Giving Back

Giving Back

We consider ourselves fortunate to live and work in the communities we serve, and that is why PeoplesBank is committed to supporting local organizations by sharing both our financial resources and our time. Whether we’re providing money to help fund special programs or serving on local non-profit boards, we believe in the spirit of giving. Here are just a few examples of how PeoplesBank is giving back to our community.

Educational Improvement Organizations

Representatives of forty York County-based organizations were recently presented with checks totaling $700,000 towards educational support within the community. These funds represent contributions made by PeoplesBank through Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.

Pennies for Puppies...and Kitties Too!

PeoplesBank recently visited the York County SPCA to meet some of the animals who have been helped through our Pennies for Puppies...and Kitties Too program. In 2015, our clients donated $2,763.90 through collection containers located in each of the bank’s financial center lobbies. Thank you to everyone who donated! Your donation helped to feed, vaccinate, and provide veterinary care for the animals pictured and many more!

Walk A Mile In Her Shoes

Check out this group of PeoplesBank employees who joined the YWCA York at their Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event to help raise awareness and funds for programs designed to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault. The brave men on our team got into the spirit of the event and “walked a mile in her shoes” by donning high heels for the one-mile walk! Together the PeoplesBank team raised over $1,500 in donations and sponsorships for the YWCA York.

Maryland Race for the Cure

This group of PeoplesBank associates participated in the Susan G. Komen Maryland Race for the Cure in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Every inch. Every foot. Every mile. Every step is a chance to end breast cancer and now we're one step closer!

Feeding the Hungry

Throughout the month of July, we hosted a food drive to support local food banks in Pennsylvania and Maryland. With the help of our clients and our team, we were able to collect 1,675 pounds of food to help feed the hungry. Without a school lunch, the summer months can be a time of hunger for many. Thank you to all who contributed and made our food drive a success!

Lending a Helping Hand

37 PeoplesBank employees rolled up their sleeves and put on their tool belts for two days of volunteer work with York Habitat for Humanity. As a co-sponsor of the Sampere Family build in Spring Grove with Glatfelter Paper, our employees were able to show their support by lending their time and energy to this worthwhile project.

PeoplesBank Donates to Steam Into History, Inc.
