Giving Back

We consider ourselves fortunate to live and work in the communities we serve, and that is why PeoplesBank is committed to supporting local organizations by sharing both our financial resources and our time. Whether we’re providing money to help fund special programs or serving on local non-profit boards, we believe in the spirit of giving. Here are just a few examples of how PeoplesBank is giving back to our community.

Walk A Mile In Her Shoes

Check out this group of PeoplesBank employees who joined the YWCA at their Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event to help raise awareness and funds for programs designed to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault. The brave men on our team got into the spirit of the event and “walked a mile in her shoes” by donning high heels for the one-mile walk! Together the PeoplesBank team raised over $2,000 in donations and sponsorships for the YWCA.

Feeding the Hungry

Throughout the month of July, we hosted a food drive to support the York County Food Bank. With the help of our clients and our team, we were able to collect 2,020 pounds of food to help feed the hungry. Without a school lunch, the summer months can be a time of hunger for many. Thank you to all who contributed and made our food drive a success!

Educational Improvement Organizations

Representatives of thirty-six York County-based organizations recently spent some valuable time at the York township headquarters of PeoplesBank, where Larry J. Miller, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Diane Baker, Vice President and Auditor of the company, presented them with checks totaling $700,000. These funds represent contributions made by PeoplesBank through Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.

PeoplesBank "Pennies for Puppies"

PeoplesBank recently presented the York County S.P.C.A. with a check for $2,600. These funds represent the proceeds collected during the bank’s 2013 Pennies for Puppies program. Through this program, clients of PeoplesBank are welcome to contribute to the S.P.C.A. through collection containers located in each of the bank’s financial center lobbies. Shown at the check presentation are, from left to right, Nathan Eifert, Vice President and Director of Marketing for PeoplesBank and Melissa Smith, Executive Director of the York County S.P.C.A.

PeoplesBank Donates New Vehicle To York Police

PeoplesBank is committed to doing all that we can to help make the communities we serve safe and vibrant places in which to live, work, and play.  That’s why we were pleased to donate a new T3 Patroller unit to the City of York police.  Along with the three Segways we have previously donated, this electric vehicle will be used in downtown patrolling efforts and community outreach programs.  We consider it our privilege to be able to help those who help us on a daily basis.
