PeoplesBank recently presented sixty two organizations throughout South Central Pennsylvania with checks totaling $830,000. These funds represent contributions made by PeoplesBank through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. Pictured above are Craig L. Kauffman, President and CEO and Diane Baker, EVP, Chief Operating and Risk Officer.

“We are delighted to provide this funding through the EITC program, which has allowed us to support local organizations as they focus on improving the educational programs throughout our community,” said Larry J. Miller, Executive Chair of the company. “We are dedicated to investing in the future of our youth and this is an excellent opportunity for us to give back to the communities we serve in South Central Pennsylvania.“  Since the start of this program, PeoplesBank has dedicated over $8 million dollars to help fund these exceptional programs.

About the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program

Established in 2001, the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program provides incentives to businesses and non-profit entities for the purpose of developing and funding innovative educational programs.  Innovative educational programs are defined as programs that are not part of the regular academic program of a public school but that enhance the curriculum or academic program of the public school.  Funds may also be used to provide tuition to eligible students to attend a school participating in the program.
