Student Banker

Student Banker Apprenticeship Fall Semester 2016

Let PeoplesBank help you decide if a career in banking might be right for you with our Student Banker Apprenticeship!  As a Student Banker, you’ll learn what it’s like to run a bank.  What does it take to build a branch office?  How does the technology work?  How do you keep the numbers straight?  This hands-on experience will provide you with the chance to interact with today’s banking leaders and learn more about what it takes to be successful in today’s business world.

What does a Student Banker do?

As a Student Banker, you’ll begin the first part of your journey during the spring of your junior year.  You’ll visit PeoplesBank twice a month for three hours each and have the chance to:

  • Learn about the banking industry
  • Spend time with PeoplesBank executives and get to know what they do
  • Participate in group activities with other student bankers and PeoplesBank employees
  • See first-hand what it is like to work in a bank

The second part of your Student Banker experience will begin in the fall of your senior year, when you’ll take what you learned during your junior year and complete a senior portfolio project.  At the end of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to present your project to PeoplesBank representatives and your school leaders.

What will I gain from this?

  • Hands-on experience in the business world
  • Potential career opportunities
  • A special experience to highlight on your resume
