Congratulations to Jeremy Demby, owner of Demby Tax and Financial Services LLC, on being one of PeoplesBank’s Redeem Your Dreams winners! He’s won $2,000 to put towards his garden, which sits behind his business, to continue and expand the donation of crops to his local church’s pantry.
Jeremy’s Story
From New Windsor, Maryland, Jeremy founded Demby Tax & Financial Services LLC. When he got his CPA and became a Certified Personal Accountant, he knew he wanted the flexibility to have his own practice and help people in his own community. Demby Tax & Financial Services LLC is located at Jeremy’s home. Along with his business, also behind the house, is a garden that Jeremy and his wife, Rachel, have used to grow crops to donate to their church’s pantry and give back to the community.
The garden was already established on the property when purchased. Jeremy wanted to use what he has been provided to give back to the community so others could have access to healthy and fresh produce.
Jeremy plans to use the $2,000 to expand the garden and have it become self-sustaining. He has started composting and has actively been conscious of using environmentally friendly methods. The money would go towards expanding the size of the garden, planting, composting, and distributing the produce to the local community. These improvements would help him keep costs down and assist in being able to produce and have a regular schedule of what they produce. Currently, he is limited with time and money.
