On Saturday, August 14, 2021, we were honored to host an unveiling ceremony of the historical marker for George M. Leader, who served as Governor of Pennsylvania from 1955-1959 and as a state senator from 1950-1954. He was the first governor of Pennsylvania from York County. The Codorus Valley Corporate Center, our headquarters, is located on the land of Mr. Leader’s original homestead and we were happy to allow the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission to place a marker in his honor. We were joined by Governor Tom Wolf, many members of the Leader family, and other elected officials to celebrate the occasion. This is the 68th historical marker in York County.
